PORTOPALO DI CAPOPASSERO

This little fishing village is the furthest south you will get before sailing west toward Ragusa or perhaps sailing a further 60 nautical mile south to the island of Malta. Weather permitting, you can anchor just to the north of the island of Capo Passero. Do not attempt to enter the south side of the little island as there are notorious reefs which you must keep well clear of. Portopalo also has a very safe anchorage within the protection of its harbour breakwaters and haul-out and yard maintenance facilities are available.
